These birds were photographed on the beach at Ynys Las, mid Wales, on 29 May 2001 I used a Fuji FinePix 4700 Zoom digital camera, through my Kowa 611 birding scope, with a 20x eyepiece.

They were in a mixed flock, 20 Ringed Plover (top) and 50 Dunlin (above), and we didn't see them until we were within a few feet - they were completely immobile, hidden among the cobbles. |
