The town of Baldock, in Hertfordshire, England, has a First Word War memorial which lists two of my "Mabbitt" cousins (yes, with an "i"); Alfred Mabbitt (Royal Berkshire) and Charles Mabbitt (North Staffordshire)

"Royal Berkshire" and "North Staffordshire" are, of course, their regiments, not necessarily their homes/ places of origin; no doubt they both lived in Baldock.
